Tomorrow's Memories New Product | Carta Bella Rough & Tumble

New product from the recent Summer4 CHA is popping up in stores everywhere including my fave little bricks and mortar store Tomorrow's Memories.  Today I am sharing two layouts using the Rough & Tumble Collection by Carta Bella which I picked up when I popped in this week.

The Rough & Tumble  collection is a charming boy collection full of rich colors and fun icons.  Carta Bella collections are printed on heavy-weight, textured paper so you can easily use a full sheet of patterned paper as a base for your layout.

I did exactly that with my first layout.....

I love using a grid design when I have multiple photos and this came together super-quick.  I used some stickers from the sticker sheet but I created a white border for them first by sticking them to white cardstock and then fussy-cut them out.  I then popped them up a bit with foam squares.

Next up, I created a layout using plain kraft cardstock as my base, and added some distress ink with a stencil in select areas.

I added some washi tape to the top right corner with stickers from the sticker sheet, some alphas from my stash and lastly a pair of glasses cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  The journalling strips were computer-generated using Word and printed on white cardstock.

This was my first time using Carta Bella product- I had assumed they "weren't my style", but this collection suits me very well and I will be sure to check out their other releases.

Tomorrow's Memories Project Pack | MME The Sweetest Thing

Today I am sharing a layout I made for a Tomorrow's Memories Project Pack.  It features papers from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing- Bluebell collection and some other little bits and bobs.

The only items added from my stash were the alphas and some black ink.  The girls always put together a great pack to work with and I love using a pack because there is always something in there that I would never buy on it's own. In this case, I never would have bought the mesh ribbon or the tickets, but I put them to use because they were in the pack!

Project Life Week 34

It's been a busy week as usual, but not as hectic as the week before, if that makes sense!  It was fairly routine except for the fact that Oliver had Friday off school due to mid-term break and I spent many many hours searching for a rental for us to move into. No luck yet, but not panicking just yet either.

This week I used the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Digital Collection and despite this collection's lack of journalling card choices, I just love it and always find a way for it to work.  That's the beauty of digital scrapping- I can take other elements or papers and turn them into journalling cards if I wish ;-)

Here is the LHS.....

Here is the RHS.....

And here is the whole week together.....

Thanks for popping by :-)

Layout Share for Tomorrow's Memories | Kaisercraft Take Note

Hi everyone! I was given a terrific pack from Tomorrow's Memories to make some store samples with.  The pack was full of goodies from Kaisercraft's new collection called Take Note.  This is a great collection with a natural colour palette and has both the traditional scrapper and pocket-page scrapper covered.  It is a really versatile collection and I will definitely be getting some more products from the range.

First up I have a pretty fussy layout compared with my usual style.  The Scrapbook Paper Journal 12x12 sheet was just begging to be cut up.......

.....and I layered my little fussy-cut pieces in a cluster in the bottom left corner.

Sonia from the TM team slipped some extra goodies into my pack- the mesh, the polaroid sleeves, the chipboard scalloped circle, the chevron paper bag and the veneer camera.  This threw me way out of my comfort zone and I was startled at the result, and I have to admit, pretty chuffed with myself!

Next up, I decided to slip back into my usual clean and simple style and use some more of my pack to make this layout.....

See how easily this line could be used for pocket-page style scrapbooking? A lot of the manufacturers have now introduced products perfectly suited to pockets- it must be catching on *wink*.

Thanks for popping in :-)

Project Life Week Thirty-Three

This week the focus was on Targa West, a tarmac rally held every year here in Perth.  The race was run over four days and with really bad weather for the first three days, the conditions were potentially quite dangerous.  However, I am relieved to say that my husband and his co-driver stayed on the road the entire race and posted a really good result.

I have used the Honey Digital Core Edition this week and added one little wood veneer from Studio Calico's Sundrifter Collection.

Here is the LHS.....

Here is the RHS.....

And here is the entire week.....

LPS August Colour Challenge

We have a terrific prize for this month's Life.Paper.Scrapbook challenge winner- a fab Amy Tangerine prize pack from American Crafts!

This is definitely one of those months where I wish I was eligible to enter ;-)  but of course you all can, and the details of how to be in the running are on the LPS Blog.

This month's colour challenge at Life.Paper.Scrapbook evoked feelings of winter, sunsets and sunshine among the Design Team.  The girls created some outstanding layouts, but this month I decided to make two cards instead.

Here is the gorgeous colour palette.....

And here is my first card- lots of white embossing and blended distress inks.  All the stamps are from Stampin' Up.

Here is my second card- I am loving yellow and grey together right now!  I kept this simple with three stamped and punched butterflies in yellow/orange tones.  The butterfly stamp is from Stampin' Up.

Be sure to pop over to LPS for all the challenge details and to see the beautiful layouts from the DT ladies.

MME Chalk Studio Layout for Tomorrow's Memories

I'm back again with another layout using the "Chalk Studio" Collection from My Mind's Eye.  The collection has bold, chalkboard inspired A-sides and soft pastel B-Sides with classic motifs like spots, stripes etc.  In contrast to the neon layout I shared yesterday, today's layout utilises those pastel B-side papers.

The sequins are from Studio Calico's Atlantic Collection- love love love the woodgrain sequins in the pack.

I used a white gel pen (Uni-ball Signo) to write on the black background.

The wooden veneer is also from Studio Calico's Atlantic Collection.

I couldn't resist machine stitching over the "chalk" banner string ;-)

The more I play with this collection the more possibilities I can see.  What trends from the scrqapbooking world have caught your attention lately?

MME Chalk Studio Layout Share for Tomorrow's Memories

Hi everyone!   I popped into my fave little bricks and mortar scrap shop, Tomorrow's Memories to pick up some papers from the My Mind's Eye "Chalk Studio" Collection.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but I knew I had to grab some before they were all gone LOL!

The chalkboard trend is everywhere right now- not just in the scrapbooking world- and most of the exhibitors at CHA Summer 2013 had a chalkboard-inspired collection on offer.  But I think this one from MME and designed by Rhonna Farrer created the most buzz.

When I was holding the papers in the shop- ok, caressing the papers- I was struck by the idea of combining the chalkboard with neon.  So when I got home I came up with this page using neon ink from Hero Arts, some more stamping in black and a  plain white cardstock base.

The neon ink hasn't photographed very well, but IRL it is much brighter and pops really well against the other black and white elements.

I will be back again soon with another layout using Chalk Studio.

Project Life Week Thirty-Two

Golly geez, another week went zooming by, but this week, unlike last week, I had LOTS of photos to choose from.  There are always lots of photos taken when my husband is home from China because we tend to do more interesting non-routine things.  Plus, I am more inclined to pull the camera out when the boys are playing with Daddy.

I used the digital version of the Clementine Core Kit and absolutely nothing else.  Easy, simple.

Here is the LHS.....

Here is the RHS.....

And here is the whole week.....

As usual, you can click on each pic to enlarge for a better view :-)

Project Life Week Thirty-One

I'm back with another PL share and this week I have used the Becky Higgins Project Life Digital Seafoam Edition with a couple of digital elements from Ali Edwards added in too.

This week I found myself quite low on photos.  It was one of those weeks where we were really busy but nothing terribly exciting happened if you know what I mean.  It was all routine stuff, just lots of it and I simply wasn't reaching for my camera/phone camera at all.

Whenever I have a week like this I usually add a list or two to my spread.  This week I added a journalling card listing off some odd things that my toddler says.  I also added an image from a TV show I have been watching on another card.

So here is week 31 LHS.....

The RHS.....

And the entire week.....

Thanks for stopping in :-)

LPS August Sketch Challenge

It's time for another sketch challenge at Life.Paper.Scrapbook and the winner for this challenge will receive five packs of Puffy Stickers from Skipping5.  Their adorable puffy stickers and flairs are perfect additions to any project.

Here's the sketch to play along with.....

And sticking fairly true to the sketch, here is my page.....

I pulled out some older Studio Calico supplies for this one- the balloon paper was perfect for this Birthday theme.

I hope you'll head over to the LPS Blog to see what the other Design Team members created and don't forget to link up your own project for a chance to win a great prize from Skipping5.
