LPS Sketch Challenge #3

It's Sketch Challenge time again at Life.Paper.Scrapbook and I really enjoyed working with this sketch.

This Challenge is sponsored by A Piece of Cake Designs and the prize is......

Your choice of any TWO packs of Cherry Flair

PLUS a 15% off voucher to use on the website

Pretty awesome prize huh?

I already had some photos in mind for this one but it meant I had to rotate the sketch like so......

That's the awesome thing about using a sketch to kickstart your creativity- you can rotate it, flip it, move things around- whatever you need to do to get those creative juices flowing!

I used papers and embellishments from Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook Collection and they have the perfect bright summery feel to go with my photos from our holiday in Phuket last year.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to play along with us at LPS to be in the running to win the terrific prize from A Piece of Cake Designs!

Life.Paper.Scrapbook Issue #1

The day is finally here! LPS Issue #1 was published tonight and already there has been loads of positive feedback.  The Project Life community is especially excited to see PL featured significantly in the magazine.  This edition introduces the Design Team (including moi- thankyou!) and showcases many designers from around the world bringing together a wide array of styles.  I am so excited for Manda Moore who has put her heart and soul into bringing the magazine to life and she should be so very proud of her efforts.

I hope you all check it out....grab a cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy a visual feast of gorgeous projects.

You can get the magazine here.

Project Life Week Twelve

It's Week 12, the week that nearly broke me.  It was a very rough week at Number 27, we all have them, and thank goodness we get to start afresh this week.

I was itching to get to this week's PL pages because it meant I got to play with the new Project Life Kraft Core Kit.  I bought and downloaded that kit as soon as it was available at acdigitals.com LOL!

Here is the LHS.....

Here is the RHS.....

And here is the entire spread.....

In addition to the Kraft core kit I also used a couple of digital arrow stamps from Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic Digital Kit.

The Midnight Edition of Project Life is now available at acdigitals.com and you will probably see it featured in my pages for next week ;-)

A Card and Tag to Share

Just popping in quickly to share a card and tag I made for Master 2's sweet little playgroup friend.  I had some leftovers from a custom card order and put them to work here.

The stamp is from Stampin' Up's Little Friends set and the patterned paper and ribbon is also from Stampin' Up.  The image was stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with inks and a water brush.  Isn't she cute?

Studio Calico Sundrifter

I fell in love with "Sundrifter" from Studio Calico as soon as I saw it and eagerly awaited the opportunity to purchase it.  I stalked the SC online shop and pounced as soon as it went live.  Unfortunately I had to wait a while to get to play with it, but yesterday I got to work and came up with this layout using a photo from our holiday in Phuket last April- yes, I AM that far behind in my "regular" scrapbooking!

I matted my photo on a leftover Cameo cut-file from a card I made, and used my favourite Mama Elephant arrow stamp, but everything else you see is from the Sundrifter Collection.  You'll be seeing a lot more of Sundrifter on my future pages and cards :-)

Project Life Week Eleven

Another week gone in the blink of an eye, but I am still loving recording our weeks this way.  I was on the lookout for a new digital kit to use in my PL pages and found Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic Collection.  It's a lot more vintage/shabby in style than what I have been using in my PL album this year, but I simply just had to have it anyway.  I have selected the "least vintage-y" parts of it this week and I love how it came together.

Here is the left hand side.....

Here is the right hand side.....

And here are both pages side by side.....

Thanks for looking!

LPS Colour Challenge #2

Hi all, it's challenge time again at Life.Paper.Scrapbook and this time it's a colour challenge.

The sponsor for this challenge is The Greatest View and if you're not familiar with their adorable embellishments, click on over and check out all their gorgeous goodies! I'm loving their Chevron/Sunburst Combination Badges and I think the Lagoon set would match nicely with my Seafoam Project Life Kit.

I love the natural earthy tones in the challenge photo and came up with two cards.....

All the supplies for these cards are from Stampin' Up!

I hope you'll play along with us at LPS :-)

Just Add Ink #156 Colour Challenge

It's me again- just popping in again quickly because it's Colour Challenge time again at Just Add Ink and here's the colour palette they've given us to play with.......

Using this card by Erin Taylor for inspiration, I inked up some stamps from Mama Elephant's "On Target" set and came up with this.....

I added some Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the white heart in the centre but it caused the Raspberry Ripple ink to run a little bit.  Next time, I'll be sure to keep the Stickles well away from any ink ;-)

Project Life Week Ten

I can't believe it's Week 10 already.....anyhoo, here are my Project Life pages for Week 10, using mostly Ready, Set, Go by Amy Tangerine for AC Digitals.

The "This Week" card is from Miss Tiina, the Day of the Week label from Design Editor, the "Hello Life" cut file from Ali Edwards and the remaining digital elements are from this kit by Katie Pertiet.

Here is the left hand page.....

Here is the right hand page.....

And here are both pages side by side.......

30 Days of Lists- Getting Set Up For Listing

Hi everyone!  You might remember I talked about participating in 30 Days of Lists this month?

Well,  it's well-underway and I have been happily making lists each day.  What I wanted to share with you today though, is how I am going to compile, decorate, store my lists as I go.

I decided to make a mini-album bound with rings so I could add pages as I go, or to remove pages for decorating.

I found some acrylic album covers hiding in my stash and set about decorating the covers with papers from Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook collection.

I then cut my pages from white cardstock slightly smaller than the album covers, so about 6.75" x 6.75".  I am decorating each page with spray inks, masks, patterned papers from the same range as the cover, stamps and letter stickers.  Here's a look at my pages so far.......

Now I just need to write my lists (which have been written on whatever scraps I have handy at the time) on each page with a black sharpie.  I am loving the creative play with my mini-album just as much as I am enjoying the list-making!  Be sure to join me again soon when I reveal some more of my 30 Days of Lists mini-album :-)

30 Days of Lists

I am  a big fan of challenges. I participate in papercraft challenges all the time.   But my favorite challenge at the moment started on March 1st– 30 Days of Lists.

Like Project Life, this is another opportunity to record YOUR STORY.  30 Days of Lists is a challenge to yourself that you CAN journal something every day- even something as quick and simple as a list.

How does it work? Every day through the month of March 2013, a list prompt will be posted in the private blog. At the end of the 30 days you’ll have a collection of entries creating a small snapshot of your life right now. Only 5-10 minutes per day are required to get the job done-  While you’re waiting in line at the bank, riding on the train or waiting for the kids to get out of school.

Why take part? Because it’s fun. Because the  community of listers is awesome and becomes even better every session (this is the 6th one!). Because it will get you thinking about simple ways to tell your story.  Because you will have 31 new prompts of things to scrapbook about. Because it's fun.  (Yes, I know I said that already.)

It's not too late to start listing and sharing your lists via TwitterPinterest and Flickr. You can also look for #30lists on Instagram for lots of fun photos of lists.

Throughout March I will be sharing my lists and hopefully incorporating them somehow into my Project Life Pages.  I will also start to share them soon on Instagram and you can follow me here.

Project Life Week Nine

I am still loving this project and this week I used the Clementine Digital Kit and a sprinkling of some other fave elements that should look familiar to you by now.  There are journalling cards and labels from Cathy Zielske and a printable from Miss Tiina.  I took a lot of photos during the week but I struggled to find photos "good enough" to use in my pages.
Some weeks are like that.

JAI #155 Sketch Challenge

The challenge sketch at Just Add Ink this week had me a bit frazzled.  For some reason no amount of flipping, rotating or staring would get the creative juices flowing with this one.  But that's why we love challenges isn't it?  I left it for a few days and then came back to it with a fresh pair of eyes, and eventually some ideas started coming- not easily, but they did eventually come.

Here's the sketch......

And here's what I came up with.....

I used the "Up, Up and Away" stamp set, some old DSP and ribbon all from Stampin' Up and some dies from MFT.  Despite being completely stuck when I first saw the sketch, I'm happy to have eventually completed a card for the challenge.
