Project Life Weeks 28 & 29

School Holidays are now over and it's back to the normal crazy routine.  The weather here has been wet and gloomy so I apologise in advance for the photos of my layouts.

For Weeks 28 and 29 I used the Amy Tangerine Ready, Set, Go Digital Collection and I just love all the little elements I can add to my photos instead of physical embellishments.  There aren't any 3x4 journalling cards in the collection but it is a simple thing to create 3x4 cards from the digital patterned papers.   I try my best to keep my pages as flat as possible so I can easily fit a whole year in one album and going digital (or hybrid) is the best way for me.

Here is Week 28.....

And here is Week 29.....

"Hello Love" | Scrappy Canary June "Globe-Trotter" Kit

I'm back with another layout using the June "Globe-Trotter" Scrapbook Kit.  It's an 8.5"x11" page with a 3x4 photo.

I love the little acetate die-cuts that come in the kit- easy to adhere with either stitching or staples.

I added some gold Heidi Swap Colour Shine instead my usual black ink splats.

I created my title from the Crate Paper Cork Phrases and Arrows that came in the kit.  I love this font!

Thanks for stopping by- don't forget there is a SALE on in the Scrappy Canary Store

Just Add Ink | #271

I needed to whip up a birthday card today so I thought I'd play along with the current challenge over at Just Add Ink.  Here is the challenge sketch.....

I took some patterned papers from the Amy Tangerine Plus One 6x6 Paper Pad and combined them with the Three Amigos Stamp Set from Mama Elephant.  I started by stamping and masking the scrunched up paper balls and then stamping the critter, sentiment and pencil.  I coloured everything very simply with Copic markers.

Here are some close-ups...

Some twine and Glossy Accents on the eyes and nose were the only finishing touches needed :-)

Project Life Weeks 26 & 27

With school holidays and wet weather, I have had a chance to do a little bit of PL catchup and today I am sharing Weeks 26 and 27 using the Sunshine Edition.  Each week is a single page layout and they face each other in my album.

Here's Week 26.....

Here's Week 27.....

I love the bright happy colours in the Sunshine Collection- the only bit of sunshine around here at the moment!

Feeling Sketchy | Sketch #125

We have a new sketch to play with at the Feeling Sketchy Challenge Blog and our challenge sponsor is Polkadoodles.

Here is the sketch we're playing with.....

I went a bit crazy and created two cards! For this first one I used an image from Polkadoodles and used watercolours to create a shaker cards filled with fine pink glitter and chunkier gold glitter.

I used dies from Spellbinders to create my shaker and starburst embellishment and stamps and a die from Stampers Anonymous and Tim Holtz for my sentiment.  Everything was created from watercolour paper and I used a cheap kid's watercolour palette to colour everything.

My next card is another shaker and I used stamps from Avery Elle, inks from Stampin' Up and a small doily die from MFT.  The shaker is filled with a mixture of sequins from my stash.

"Crazy Hair Day" | Scrappy Canary June "Globe-Trotter" Kit

I'm back with another layout using the June "Globe-Trotter" Scrapbook Kit.  It's another 12x12 grid-style page with two 3x4 photos, one portrait and the other landscape.  It can be tricky to make a grid with photos of different orientations, but it is possible to make it work.

I love the transparent die-cuts from the Pink Paislee "Atlas" collection that come in the kit.  Even though they are travel-themed, they can be used to tell other stories too.

I cut apart one of the patterned papers in the kit to create my small tags.

I layered a clear die-cut over a regular one here.  It's easy to machine stitch through acrylic ones to secure them to your page.

"Live In The Moment" | Scrappy Canary June "Globe-Trotter" Scrapbook Kit

I am excited to share my first layout using the June "Globe-Trotter" Kit.  It's chock-full of papers from Pink Paislee's Atlas Collection among others that co-ordinate beautifully. Although the products have a travel theme, I can see how easily they can be used for everyday stories.

For today's layout I decided on a pared back colour palette of grey, silver and dark blue to go with my black and white 4x3 photos.

I layered one of the 4x4 transparencies in the kit over some vellum and patterned paper to form my title.

I also cut apart one of the 4x4 cards to make the bottom right portion of my grid.

There are still kits available as well as lots of new goodies in the Scrappy Canary Store and don't forget to use the discount code LOUISE10 for 10% off.

Kraft Plus | July Challenge

The Kraft Plus Challenge Blog has a new inspiration photo to get the creative mojo going and I just loved it when I saw it and had to play along.

A Mustard Explosion!
The Criteria:
Use Kraft as your background
Draw inspiration from the photo
and
Use Yellow Paint on your creation.

I decided to give my Silhouette Cameo some lovin' and cut a jar of pencils (cut file from the Silhouette Store) and letters for my title from different Studio Calico Snippets Collection patterned papers which I layered on top of each other for extra texture and interest.

For my background I mixed yellow paint with Modelling paste and put it through a Donna Downey stencil.

I added some stickers and chipboard from the SC Snippets collection and a scattering of enamel dots from MME.

I also layered some loose yellow thread under my photo.

I traced around the letters with a black marker and then stitched over that to secure them but to also add more texture.

I then very roughly coloured in my pencils with markers to add to the hand-drawn feel of my page.

This was a small step away from my usual style but it was a lot of fun and I really love how it turned out!

Feeling Sketchy | Sketch #124

We have a new sketch to play with at the Feeling Sketchy Challenge Blog and our challenge sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

Here is Sketch #124.....

I chose this adorable baby image from Bugaboo and paired it with papers and die-cuts from Kaisercraft's Bundle of Joy Collection.  I printed the image on Neenah Solar White Cardstock and coloured it with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut it out and layered it on the papers and die-cuts.

I added some Clear Wink of Stella here and there for some subtle sparkle.
