Life.Paper.Scrapbook | July Sketch

I think I've just squeezed in my entry for the LPS July Sketch.  Today I was looking for some inspiration in the form of a sketch and I knew exactly where to look :-)

I had some small scraps left from Boys Rule by Crate Paper - boy I love love love that collection- and came up with this.....

I simply added some Thickers for my title, some splats of Mister Hueys, twine and machine stitching to embellish :-)

Life.Paper.Scrapbook | July Mood Board

Sadly my term on the Design Team at Life.Paper.Scrapbook has come to an end but that doesn't mean I won't be playing along with the challenges from time to time!  The July Mood Board is another gorgeous board with bright colours but a warm and cosy feel.

I was immediately drawn to the pinks and greens as well as the different textures.  I decided to combine these colours with loads of texture by using a huge cluster of embellishments, some heat embossing on my background and gold thread.

The journalling is very personal.  It's a story that needs to be recorded but I didn't want the story to be the dominating feature on the page.  Rather, I wanted it to be another decorative layer on the background.  If the viewer looks closely it's readable but if you are just flipping through my album you might skip over it.

I used products from Dear Lizzy's 5th&Frolic Collection along with some twine, ribbon, heat embossing using a stencil, spray mists, Thickers and a Silhouette cut file.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out all the inspiration over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

Project Life Week 28

The first week of our winter school holidays went by at a nice slow relaxed pace, so I was able to easily tell the story of our week on a single page to sit alongside Week 27 in my album.  I used the Midnight Edition again to match the opposite page.

I've had a few emails asking me about the font I use in my PL pages- it's Courier New, and I use it every week :-)

Feeling Sketchy | Sketch #96

It's card sketch time again at Feeling Sketchy and we welcome back our challenge sponsors.....

I am a fantasy artist residing in the United States.  Being originally from Japan, my work reflects the influence of the vintage shoujo manga and classic tattoo artists of my native country.  There is a strong emphasis on the clean and detailed line art  hand drawn in pen on paper, which is colored digitally in my own unique coloring technique using Corel Painter program.  My fusion of traditional and digital media produces a look reminiscent of watercolor paintings.  I hope my fantasy images will take you into the world of pure imagination, presenting each subject in fluid lines and beautiful colors.

Molossi strive to bring you an online shopping experience where you can relish in a huge range of scrapbooking supplies to compliment your scrapbooking addiction. Here we strive to offer thousands of products including: Albums, Cardstock, Flowers, Bling, Personal Die Cutting Machines, Stickers, Embellishments and plenty more. But it doesn’t stop there, become apart of a scrapping community, enter the stash giveaways and competitions on our Facebook page and/or blog ,  for a large range of page layout ideas, even sign up for our monthly newsletter to stay up-to-date with the scrapbooking world and monthly promotions.

Here's the sketch we're playing with.....

Using an Aurora Wings image from here and watercolour pencils I created this.....

If you look closely you can see some subtle shimmer I added with my Wink of Stella marker.....

Project Life Week 27

This week was the last week of term for us and we were all looking forward to a break from the usual routine of school runs and other activities.  Chris got home on Tuesday and we are all very happy that he gets to spend a couple of days of the school holidays with us.

This week I used the Midnight Edition to make another single-page layout.  I considered stretching things out with more photos, filler cards and journalling, but the photos I ended up with pretty much summed up our week nicely.

Here's Week 27.....

If you look carefully you might notice my pics are a little bit stripey?  Sometimes that happens with my little Picturemate printer, but all I had to do was run the auto-clean function to clean the heads and it was all good.  Rather than print everything again, I decided that the photos were good enough for the album.  You can see what's going on in the photos and all the text is easy to read.  All I care about is that our stories are told ;-)
