We've had a lovely summer break and it's Back-to-School day here in Perth and I am sending my big boy into Year 2. Why do these children have to grow up so fast?!
It's sketch challenge time again at Life.Paper.Scrapbook and this month's sponsor is The Scrapbook Store.
The Scrapbook Store is a Western Australia based scrapbooking and craft online retailer stocking an extensive range of the latest released scrapbooking and craft products. With over 5,000 products online and growing, there isn't much in scrapbooking and craft that they don’t sell! First time customers receive 10% discount off their 1st order. Simply register and you will receive an immediate e-mail with the details of how to claim your discount.
The Scrapbook Store is awarding the winner of this challenge a $20 Grab-Bag!
Here's the sketch we're playing with.....
I took the opportunity to dig around the deep dark depths of my stash and I found some leftovers from a really old Studio Calico kit. There were papers from October Afternoon and American Crafts and embellishments from Jenni Bowlin and what I am pretty sure was Basic Grey - the packaging was missing.
Head over to LPS for all the challenge details and for lots of inspiration from the other Design Team girls :-)

Feeling Sketchy | Sketch #79
Here I am with my first post as a Design Team member over at Feeling Sketchy. It's a lovely group of ladies and I am sure I will love working with them all.
This challenge is sponsored by Molossi who very generously offer a $30 chipboard and bling prize pack for the winner.
The Design Team are using digital stamps from Bugaboo Stamps and they are also offering 7 digital stamps to the challenge winner.
So on with the sketch we're playing with.....
I'm using this adorable stamp which you can find here.
Isn't he a handsome doctor?
I opened my stamp in Photoshop and re-sized him to fit inside a 2.5" circle. I also "cut apart" the sentiment and put it back together in a straight line to suit my design better.
I decided to stray from the sketch a little bit. My card is a standard 4.25" x 5.5" size and I ran my banner horizontally rather than vertically so I could use it to ground my sentiment. I used watercolour pencils to colour him in, being very careful to not run my printer ink. We have a laser printer but I find my little Picturemate inkjet photo printer gives a crisper and cleaner result.
I hope you'll play along with us at Feeling Sketchy- don't forget there are prizes to be won!

Project Life Week 4
My internet at home is all screwy right now, so I'm just posting quickly before my connection disappears again.....
I've used the Coral Edition and the highlight of our week was a trip on the train to see the Peppa Pig show at the Regal Theatre. My boys adore Peppa (well, the big one won't admit it, but he does) and everything stops in our house when Peppa comes on the TV.
Here is Week 4.....
Happy Australia Day everyone!

Life Paper Scrapbook | January Mood Board
Rather than doing colour challenges this year at Life Paper Scrapbook, we are doing Mood Board Challenges. We can draw inspiration not only from the colour palette, but also from the imagery in the board. Super-fun!
This challenge is sponsored by Kellie Stamps and the prize is this amazing stamp set- wish I could enter this one!
So here is the January Mood Board.....

I was immediately drawn to the aqua, red and orange in the colour palette but also to the geometric chevron shapes.
I've used the Day to Day kit from LPS and some Heidi Swapp spray mists. I cut the title with my Cameo using paper from the kit and finished it all of with some machine stitching :-)
I hope you'll join us for this challenge- don't forget the prize is drawn at random, so everyone has an equal chance. All the details on howto enter are on the LPS Blog as well as extra inspiration from the DT ladies.

Project Life Week 3
This week I managed to use the correct kit- it's Clementine. We haven't had a very exciting week. Vac Swim for Master 7 is underway so we are at the pool a lot and there are only so many shots of swimming kids you can take. We've had more very hot weather so outdoor activities are impossible. Master 3 and I both caught bugs- he had a funny tummy and I have a headcold. So what do you do when you've had a so-so week? You raid your husband's Facebook feed and fill your pages with his adventures instead! I'm still under the weather so I have just kept it all really really simple.
Here is Week 3.....
You know it's been a quiet week when the dog getting her bath makes an appearance ;-)
