Layout Share | Basic Grey Figgy Pudding

I don't often blog twice in one day, so if you're looking for my Project Life post, go here.

This is just a quick post to share a layout from last Christmas using Figgy Pudding from Basic Grey.  You'd be doing really well to find this collection- it's an oldie but a goodie.  This layout took all of about 15 minutes. I find using a grid format a really fast way to scrap multiple photos, and this was a page that I just simply wanted to get done rather than muck about with techniques, layering or fussy-cutting.

I added a couple of wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico and the rest is Figgy Pudding papers, die-cuts and alphas.

Project Life Week 43

It's a photo-heavy spread this week- a busy week will often result in lots of photos!  I used the digital edition of the Amy Tangerine Ready, Set, Go Collection and it worked out well because this collection doesn't offer many journalling cards and I didn't have room for much journalling with all those photos.

The highlights of our week were a Commendation for Master 7 and  a Birthday party with old friends.  Hubby also took a three day trip to Barrow Island to familiarise himself with his new job starting soon.

See you soon for a layout share :-)

Tomorrow's Memories | Little Yellow Bicycle "Fern & Forest"

This week I had the pleasure of doing some samples for Tomorrow's Memories using the Little Yellow Bicycle "Fern & Forest Boy" Collection.

I had a lot of fun with this collection- I loved the colour palette of blue, green, orange and brown.

The lovely Sonia added a couple of wooden veneers, some bling, twine, ribbon, buttons, a chipboard tree and some cardstock to my pack to help me out, but honestly, these papers have plenty of patterns and images that you can cut up to make embellishments yourself, so there is little need to add much else. There are also co-ordinating accessories available in the Fern & Forest Collection.

Here's what I came up with and you can see them in real life when you pop into the Tomorrow's Memories store in Bassendean.

I have some scraps left over and I will be trying to squeeze another page out of them!

Layout Share | Studio Calico Sundrifter

Here's a quick share of a page I made of my Dad and my youngest son when we visited Queensland last Christmas.  I used the Sundrifter Collection from Studio Calico and although I was a bit nervous about the splashes of pink, it works because of the colours in the photos.

I fell in love with this collection when it first came out and then of course I fell in love with more shiny and new collections since then.....I still have plenty left and I will be sure to use every last scrap :-)

Project Life Week 42

Week 42 saw our big boy head back to school for Term 4 and a return to our normal routine.  I function best when there is routine and order, but for short periods of time throughout the year (ie school holidays) it is ok to deviate a little from "the plan".

This week I used Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm and I just love the colour palette of navy, pink and mint green.  As usual I just "cut up" and "pasted" down the elements to suit my PL style.  I had a lot of very grainy and blurry phone pics this week so I tried to use small versions of the ones I really felt needed to be included.

I added one "real" embellishment this week- a little wood veneer bird from Studio Calico.

Layout Share | Basic Grey

Last Friday night I went to a Moonlight Scrap at my favourite little bricks and mortar scrapbooking store, Tomorrow's Memories and despite lots of chatter and laughter, I did manage to produce a layout and about half of another one.

Once again I dug around in my stash for some older product  and found some leftover Archaic by Basic Grey and thought it would go well with this layout about our new block of land.  It's quite rocky up there on the block, and these papers had a kind of rocky looking prehistoric vibe going on.

I reckon I bought this collection about 6 years ago, so I was a bit worried that the rub-ons wouldn't come off the backing sheet easily, but they went onto my project like butter.  Just shows what great quality you get from Basic Grey :-)

Layout Share | October Afternoon

I have been digging around in my older stash (moving house will do that to you!) and found some leftover bits of Road Map by October Afternoon which I thought would go well with a photo of Master 7 and I sitting in Business Class on a flight to Brisbane last December.

I added some stitching using this embroidery stencil from Amy Tangerine and I loved the texture it added to my page.

Like most scrapbookers, I have a lot of older product sitting in my stash, and although it's not hard to get excited by all the fab new stuff that comes out, it can also be really cool to re-discover why we fell in love with the older stuff when it was once all shiny and new :-)

Project Life Week 41

This week I've gone with very simple again.  We are still unpacking and organising at the new house and I am very comfortable with the "Print and Slip" method of Pocket Scrapping!  I have used the bright and happy Honey Edition of Project Life and I love how it suited the many outdoor shots I had this week.

Here is the LHS.....

Here is the RHS.....

And here is the entire week.....

As usual, you can click on each photo for a better view.

I would just like to also add today that my Made at Number 27 Shop re-opened this morning after a short break for moving house.  I have ready-to-post cards in the store and can take a few more orders for custom Christmas cards.

Project Life Week 40

I apologise for being later than usual with my weekly Project Life post, but we moved house last Friday and were living out of boxes and didn't have internet for a few days.  But here I am, almost settled into our new house, with Week 40 using the Clementine Edition.

I kept things really really simple (yes, even more simple than usual LOL) and didn't add anything dimensional to any cards.  I just wanted to be able to print my pics, slip them in the pockets and call it done this week.

LPS October Sketch Challenge

It's sketch challenge time again at Life.Paper.Scrapbook and this month our sponsor is StudioFourteen40.

Studio Fourteen40 is an exciting new Australian business that made its debut into the paper-craft scene in September this year. Owner and designer Sandra Allan is ecstatic that her 'baby' generated so much interest and excitement within such a short time.

Whilst it is early days at Studio Fourteen40 and Sandra has 13 collections of tin button flairs released, there are plenty more on the drawing board. Sandra has grand dreams for her business and cannot wait to share more of her designs and release other embellishments into her line.

Visit facebook.com/StudioFourteen40 to keep up with the latest releases and exciting announcements and view the entire range.

The winner of this challenge will receive their choice of any six packets of flair from the Studio Fourteen40 range.

Here's the sketch.....

I busted out some papers from Studio Calico's Darling Dear Collection and came up with this.....

Head on over to LPS for the details for the challenge and to see the stunning work from the super-talented Design Team!
